Description
Summary:Microgrids are becoming an increasingly popular solution for providing communities and facilities with a reliable, efficient and resilient energy supply. In a microgrid, several energy sources are combined to form a small self-contained grid that can operate independently of the main grid. Renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower are playing an increasingly important role in microgrid design due to their environmental sustainability, cost effectiveness and ability to provide a reliable energy supply. However, the integration of renewable energy sources into microgrids can also pose technical challenges, particularly with regard to the electrical equipment within the system. This study investigates the impact of power quality on the characteristics of electrical equipment, particularly LED lamps, in microgrids with high penetration of renewable energy sources. Simulation testing will be carried out using the microgrid model in the scenario of the electric power system simulation software (OPAL-RT) and entering the output voltage from the microgrid simulation into the Spectrophotometer to determine the results of the lamp characteristics. The results showed that voltage and frequency fluctuations affect the power consumption and efficiency of LED lights in the microgrid, this can affect the overall system performance and stability. This study provides insight into the challenges and opportunities in integrating renewable energy sources into micro-grids and can contribute to sustainable development in the energy sector.
