INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77940 The internet is an important part of obtaining information quickly, communicating with each other and accessing knowledge. With the internet, someone can continue to communicate without having to meet face to face. The internet is basically a network of computers connected to one another. One of the important processes of implementing the internet is routing, which is the process of selecting a path on a network to send packets from source to destination. Routing methods continue to be developed to find which method is the most effective and efficient. Segment Routing (SR) uses a source-based routing paradigm. Nodes route packets through ordered lists of instructions, called segments. Segments can represent any instruction, topology, or service. Segment Routing can be run over IPv4 (SR-MPLS) or over IPv6 (SRv6). Multicast transmits data from one source to multiple receivers. Multicast has not been widely used due to lack of perception and operation on routers, even though multicast has many advantages in terms of bandwidth usage. With multicast implementation, the bandwidth used by each user is not distributed uniformly, but the bandwidth can be shared among several recipients at once. Meanwhile, L3VPN is a technology that provides private and guaranteed communication to separate geographic areas. So, with L3VPN it is hoped that we can provide an efficient, secure and cost-effective communications network. This research will investigate the implementation of multicast and L3VPN on SRv6. By carrying out this research, it is hoped that it can contribute to SRv6 research which is still relatively new and requires a lot of testing for implementation on real networks. This research will compare the implementation of SRv6 multicast with conventional multicast and compare L3VPN SRv6 and L3VPN using MPLS. The results obtained by L3VPN SRv6 have better values in terms of success rate parameters of 9.58%, throughput of 27.45% and delay of 3.3%.. text
