CARBONATE RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION USING EXTENDED ELASTIC IMPEDANCE INVERSION METHOD OF KUJUNG-I FORMATION, “AERI” FIELD, EAST JAVA BASIN

The "AERI" field is one of the oil and natural gas fields located in the East Java Basin. There are many geological formations in the East Java Basin. One of the formations is the Kujung Formation, which is composed of carbonate rocks. The carbonate stones are a good place to store oil...

There are many geological formations in the East Java Basin. One of the formations is the Kujung Formation, which is composed of carbonate rocks. The carbonate stones are a good place to store oil and gas reserves. To know the spread and potential of the reservoir on the carbonate rock in the Kujung Formations, they are characterized by inverse seismic methods. Before doing seismic inversions, it is necessary to search for elastic parameters that are sensitive and can separate between lithology and fluids. From this sensitive analysis, the elastic parameters obtained are Lambda-Rho and Mu-Rho. This parameter will be used to perform Extended Elastic Impedance (EEI) inversion. Before performing the EEI inversion, make the volumes of reflectivity Rp and Rs using the Ursenbach-Stewart equation (2008), because the production of the reflection volume of EEI is made from the reflective volumes of Rs and Rs. The EEI reflection is reversed using the method of Linear Programming Sparse-Spike (LPSS). text
