INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77990 In modern times, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) has become increasingly common to assist humans in various industries. However, one of the concerns regarding UAV application is the emissions they produce. One of the solutions created for this problem is the combination of internal combustion engine technology with battery-electric motor technology, also known as a hybrid propulsion system technology. A suitable engine for hybrid propulsion system is an ultra-micro gas turbine which produces lower vibrations compared to a piston engine. However, to ensure that the gas turbine can work optimally, a test system is needed that can measure the output power of the ultra-micro gas turbine. The turbine output power test system designed in this research applies a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor that is used as an electric power generator. The power turbine part of the ultra-micro gas turbine will produce rotation which acts as an input for the motor-generator to produce electrical power. This study uses BLDC motors with KV values of 1,400, 1,000, and 805 as samples to determine the effect of motor-generator parameters on the electric power it produces. After that, electric power produced by the motor-generator system is compared with the theoretical power value that can be obtained by the motor-generator based on Ohm's Law and the KV value of the BLDC motor. The application of BLDC motor as a generator can produce a voltage conversion rate of up to 92% and a power efficiency of up to 51% at rotational speeds below 10,000 rpm. text
