The population growth of West Pasaman tends to increase every year by 1,03% (2021) so that a transportation service is needed that can attract people to want to use public transportation. Public transportation in West Pasaman, especially from Simpang Empat to Padang City, there are only 2 types of modes, namely bus transportation modes and travel agent car transportation modes. The purpose of this study was to determine the competitiveness and competition of bus and travel agent modes as regional transportation to increase the use of public transportation. This study uses 174 samples which are stratified random respondents who live in Simpang Empat. Respondents filled out questionnaires distributed offline and online. Data analysis methods using binary logit for stated choice and Importance Performance of Analysis (IPA). The choice of transportation mode is influenced by gender, type of work, car ownership, and frequency of using bus transportation modes in a year. The only influential stated choice variable is bus headway. The probability of choosing the bus mode is 44.23%, while the probability of respondents choosing to use the travel agent agent car mode is 55.77%. Services from bus transportation attributes that have a high level of performance and importance are: the driver drives in an orderly manner, the driver is friendly to passengers, the seats are not crowded, and the cleanliness in the bus is optimal. Attributes that need to be improved are: security of goods in the waiting room and inside the vehicle is good, the availability of safety equipment (first aid kit), the presence of temperature control facilities in the vehicle, and the prohibition of smoking in the vehicle. As for the attributes of travel agent cars with high levels of performanceiv and importance, namely: security of goods in the waiting room and inside the vehicle is good, the driver drives in an orderly manner, there are temperature control facilities in the vehicle, the driver is friendly to passengers, cleanliness in the bus is optimal, passengers can easily order transportation tickets, and the driver stops as needed when loading and unloading passengers. Attributes whose performance must be improved are: the availability of safety equipment (P3K), the prohibition of smoking in the vehicle, and the seats are not crowded. text
