Therefore, rule of law about Continental Shelf region which can be pulled exceeds distance 200 nautical miles, would strongly supports a coastal state, including Indonesia to utilize all the natural resources. One of criterions to determine the Continental Shelf boundary is based on geological aspect, line which thickness comparison of the sediment with horizontal distance from Foot Of Slope (FOS) which has 1% in value. This geological aspect is expected to be a maximum Indonesian Continental Shelf boundary. Criterion that based on the geology aspect, has been applied at south of Sumbawa, that yields Indonesian Continental Shelf boundary to become less than 200 sea miles. This situation makes effort to drawn Additional Continental Shelf cannot be done. So, it would be better not to apply the criterion that based on geological aspect at the southern Sumbawa. text |
