The purpose of this research is to analyze the pyroclastic deposits resulting from the eruptions of the Sunda Volcanoic Complex, in order to understand the processes that occur within the volcanic system leading to the deposition of materials. The objectives of this study are to determine the deposition mechanism of pyroclastic deposits from the eruptions of the Sunda Volcanic Complex, identify eruption phases, and ascertain the eruption mechanisms of the Sunda Volcanic Complex. The research methods used in this study include literature review, facies analysis, volcanostratigraphic analysis, component analysis, and textural analysis. The analysis of ten facies conducted at seven outcrops in the research area reveals that the eruption products of the Sunda Volcano Complex were deposited through mechanisms including fluid-escape dominated flow-boundary zone, traction-dominated flow-boundary zone, and direct fallout dominated flowboundary zone. Furthermore, the results of the volcanostratigraphic analysis in the research area indicate the presence of two periods of volcanic activity in the Sunda Volcano Complex. The Pre-Sunda volcanic period consists of opening and climax caldera formation phases, while the Sunda volcanic period encompasses pre-caldera, opening, and climax caldera formation phases. Observations of vesicular morphology in juvenile components indicate high magma ascent rates during the climax caldera formation phases of both the Pre-Sunda and Sunda Calderas. On the other hand, the calculated decompression rate shows higher values during the pre-caldera phase of the Sunda Caldera due to the more basic magma composition. text
