PLANNING OF COASTAL PROTECTION STRUCTURE FOR ARUNG DALAM VILLAGE, CENTRAL BANGKA REGENCY, BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS

Around 65% of Indonesia's population lives in coastal areas. This results in a large number of communities that are vulnerable to coastal disaster events such as sea level rise, storm surge, or shoreline erosion. One such example occurs in the coastal area of Arung Dalam Village, Central Bangka...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/78138 Around 65% of Indonesia's population lives in coastal areas. This results in a large number of communities that are vulnerable to coastal disaster events such as sea level rise, storm surge, or shoreline erosion. One such example occurs in the coastal area of Arung Dalam Village, Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. There is a significant deterioration of the coastline in the area. The decline of the coastline can have a vital impact because it can affect the economy of the surrounding community as well as regional logistics lanes. Therefore, to overcome this, it is necessary to plan the construction of a coastal protection structure in the Arung Dalam Village area. Shoreline retreat caused by natural factors and human activities is analyzed using the Coastal Engineering Design and Analysis System (CEDAS) program in Generalized Model for Simulating Shoreline Change (GENESIS) modeling. GENESIS will simulate shoreline retreat caused by coastal sediment transport along with coastal protection structures including Groin, Breakwater, Revetment, or a combination of these structures. The coastal protection structure chosen is a combination of 11 breakwaters with a length of 80 meters each, placed 100-meters from the shoreline and 65-meters from other breakwater structures and 1000-meter revetment. The breakwater structure consists of an armor layer made of tetrapods, filter and core layers composed of different sizes natural stones, and a toe protection layer. text
