INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/78262 Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic musculoskeletal disease that occurs in the joints and synovial lining that causes inflammation, stiffness, arthralgia and can result in worsening and damage to the joints that reduce mobility. If it occurs continuously and is not treated, it will cause disability and death. Low medication adherence is one of the persistent and frequent health problems in patients with chronic diseases. This study was conducted to assess the level of patient compliance in the use of drugs, quality of life and knowledge of rheumatoid arthritis patients in order to achieve therapeutic effectiveness. In addition, this study was conducted to observe the relationship between patient compliance and the quality of life and knowledge of rheumatoid arthritis patients. The study used a descriptive observational analytic design with a cross-sectional design involving 57 research subjects, which were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Primary patient data was collected through the Adherence Refill Medication Scale (ARMS) questionnaire used for patient compliance assessment, the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire used for quality of life assessment, and a questionnaire to assess patient knowledge accompanied by an interview. The study was conducted on rheumatoid arthritis patients at two health centers in Bandung, namely Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie and Puskesmas Pasirkaliki during March to June 2023. The results showed that 47.4% of patients had high compliance, 52.6% with moderate compliance. Data on patient characteristics showed that only two factors had a significant influence on compliance with drug use in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, namely gender (p = 0.004) and disease duration (p = 0.022). The level of compliance with drug use has a significant influence on the level of patient knowledge, with p = 0.028. At the level of patient compliance with quality of life, only domain 1, namely the physical health aspect, has a significant relationship with compliance with drug use in rheumatoid arthritis patients with p = 0.012. text
