Description
Summary:PT Excelitas Technologies Batam (Established in 1994) is a technology-leading company in delivering high-performance photonic innovations to satisfy customer needs. Products such as technology of lighting, optronics, detections and optics are worldwide. The factory in Batam is an assembly manufacturing process and 70% of the products produced are sensor products. Based on statistics from the preceding three years, customer demand would climb to 528K in 2023 from 508K in year 2022. To ensure on-time delivery and to meet client demand, increasing production capacity must be accomplished promptly. This will ensure that the company can continue doing business in the future and meet satisfied of customer. To be able to deliver effective and efficient solutions for growing production capacity at Excelitas Technologies Batam, companies must consider factors such as business competitiveness, changing, and fluctuating circumstances. The backline process, particularly the testing process, needs to be enhanced, according to mapping and the lean six sigma method. The analysis performed effective and efficient strategies to boost productivity. The strategies used to increase production capacity include eliminating operations that indicated as non-value add (lean concept) and integrating processes into other processes to eliminate process variability (six sigma concept). The results indicate that the increase in production capacity exceeds the predetermined target (> 20% from 20222). This is founded on the idea of the theory of constraints approach, which not only resolves the primary issue but also moves on to resolve the subsequent issue.
