Description
Summary:Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) is a legal entity established to administer the Social Security program. BPJS provides capitation funds to primary health care, so primary health care must manage the capitation funds to cover all operational costs, including medication. Evaluation of drug prescription and pharmaceutical products should be conducted within the capitation funding system. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the cost and drug utilization in BPJS patients at one of the primary clinics in Bandung City. The method used in this study is a retrospective crosssectional study, collecting patient data from electronic medical records from January 2022 to December 2022. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis to compare BPJS and nonBPJS patients, and inferential statistical analysis to examine the relationship between patient occupation categories and incurred costs. Based on the analysis, it was found that the clinic dispensed more drugs to non-BPJS patients, but at a lower cost compared to BPJS users. The prescription costs for both groups (BPJS users and non-users) were significantly different with a pvalue of 0.003. The capitation funds were utilized at an average of 27.89% per month. There were significant differences in patient categories for retirees and students.
