Utilization of emission reduction technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage/Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCS/CCUS) can be a solution to this problem. In the application of the CCS method, the reservoir has a very important role as storage C02. One of the basins in Indonesia that is expected to have a good reservoir is the West Natuna Basin. The SR Field which is in the West Natuna Basin has started production activities since 2001 and is expected to carry out production until 2028. Reservoir characterization plays an important role for the initial stage of the process of estimating C02 storage capacity. This research was conducted at the interval of Arang Formation in SR Field. This study aims to understand the geological conditions, especially in the zone of interest, identify the facies and determine the depositional environment at zone of interest, identify and correlate sequence stratigraphy at zone of interest, determine petrophysical properties at zone of interest, and estimate the C02 storage capacity at SR Field. The data used in this research are wireline log data from three wells, core, and sidewall core descriptions, well reports, and 20 2D seismic lines. Based on facies and depositional environment analysis, the zone of interest has five lithofacies with three facies association (prodelta, delta front, and distributary channel) which form Wave Influenced Delta. Sequence stratigraphic analysis at zone of interest had three sequence sets and two sequence boundaries consisting of two highstand system tract and one transgressive system tract. Petrophysical analysis showed the cut-off of the reservoir volume of shale, effective porosity, and saturation water were 0.6;0.15; and 0.35. Average petrophysical properties in the reservoir is 0.3 for volume of shale and 0.23 for effectiveporosity. The C02 storage capacity estimation results show that the value of storage capacity in the reservoir in the SR Field is 16.6 million tonnes. text |

The Indonesian government keeps working on increasing oil and gas production to meet the country's demand for energy. On the other hand, efforts to reduce emissions towards Net Zero Emissions (NZE) in 2060 are also continuing. Utilization of emission reduction technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage/Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCS/CCUS) can be a solution to this problem. To reduce intensity of C02 emission the SR Field can be used as a storage place for C02 produced from the gas production process.
