CHARACTERISTICS OF EPITHERMAL MINERALIZATION DEPOSITS IN VEIN SAMPLES FROM ARINEM PROSPECT IN GARUT, WEST JAVA
Arinem vein is a kind of low sulphide deposits which mainly dominated by of base metal. Arinem vein covers of two vein systems that posses a trend ranging from N10oE and N160oE with a dip direction around 68-83o and has 5900 m of lenght. This Vein was controlled by geological structures of faults...

This Vein was controlled by geological structures of faults. In this research study area, there were found five major normal faults in which have a trend along North to South and Northeast to Southwest. A few faults intersected the vein along Northwest-Southeast and Northeast-Southwest trending, thus it can rise the local movement to the vein zone. Arinem vein formed along the Cikandang river and its creek, namely Cikandang Cipanengen and Cibatarua whereby they flowed from North to South. Here the mineralization occured in the study area since the presence of andesite that intruded the basaltic rock such as tuff, breccia and lava flows. In this case, it is revealed that andesite intrution served as a rock-bearing of mineralization. It can be pointed here that the present of andesite vein as an indication that this vein have already intersected the basaltic rock. The series of ore mineral from the Arinem vein is dominated by sulphide minerals likely pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, cinnabar and small amounts contribution of oxides mineral such as hematite, limonite and Malachite. The ore minerals described above were formed inside the quartz with a lot of textures conclude of saccharoidal, colloform, vuggy silica, comb structure, zonal, lattice bladed, banded and massive. text |
