Summary:Trucks are the primary hauling unit in an open pit mining system with shovel and truck method. The use of trucks that reach hundreds of thousands of kilometers each year causing fuel consumption to be important factor to consider. There is a tendency of increase in fuel prices each time so it needs to be done the steps of operational efficiency. A number of factors contribute to fuel consumption. Analysis of factors that influence to fuel consumption are absolutely necessary which changing in transport distance and slope of the road are important factor. The results and calculation of fuel consumption value of hauling unit due to the influence of changes in transport distance (3500 meters, 3900 meters, 4200 meters, 4500 meters) with a slope of the road 2% is 14,47 liters/hr, 14,81 liters/hr, 15,03 liters/hr, and 15,23 liters/hr. While the fuel consumption value of hauling unit due to the effect of changing the slope of the road (1,5%, 1,8%, 2,2%, 2,5%) with a transport distance of 4200 meters is 14,31 liters/hr, 14,75 liters/hr, 15,41 liters/hr, and 15,79 liters/hr. From the calculation results of the analysis of changes in parameters can be deduced that the parameters change in transport distance is the most influential parameters to changes in the value of fuel consumption.
