With the “Quality, Cost Effective and Timely Delivery of Integrated Communication Systems”, PT. QDC offered several product and services such as feasibility research, consultancy, planning and design, project management, material management, contract management, network integration, and systems engineering. As an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company, it is important to have a well plan project management to ensure that every project meets its project’s objectives. One of PT. QDC’s projects is the Trafo Bay Submission construction in Lubuk Linggau, South Sumatera. On its project implementation, the project run behind its project plan and make a profit loss for more than IDR. 200.000.000. This research is aimed to improve project management of PT. QDC to make a more effective and efficient project plan. Steps to improve the project management is by compare the project management implementation of Trafo Bay construction project with the theories on conducting project from Project Management Book of Knowledge the fifth edition, which will become foundation to analyze the gap analysis to make an improvement plan for future projects. On collecting data, author conducts an interview with the project manager of Trafo Bay construction project, director of PT. QDC, and Quality Manager of PT. QDC. Result from this research is to give recommendations for company and project team on improving project management and find out which activities that should be done during the projects from initiating until closing project. From the analysis, problems that occurred during the process of Trafo Bay construction project in Lubuk Linggau happened because of the unprepared and unknowledgeable project team to execute this project because this project is the first mechanical electrical project for PT. QDC. text
