Description
Summary:GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) is one of high resolution radio waves imaging technology applied to map structures and features in the ground. Monocycle pulse emitted by the transmitter to the ground will be transmitted, reflected and scattered by the ground structures / objects, and received by the receiver. Finite Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is applied for analyzing and modeling of GPR image in two dimensions. Reflection of GPR imaging is modeled using TM-formula mode. Pulse width transmitted by GPR devices depends on the frequency. Transmitted pulse width will affect the distance and resolution of GPR imaging. Optimization of pulse width transmitted to the medium, which applied in geophysics and geotechnics exploration, using MATLAB for FDTD simulation will be analyzed in this research.
