Methyldopa is the recommended first-line agent used for therapeutic treatment of hypertension during pregnancy. However in the treatment of hypertension during pregnancy are widely used second and third-line drugs. Based on this, it is necessary to evaluate the use of antihypertensive drugs in pregnant women with hypertensive condition in order to obtain accurate data in regards the effectiveness of the therapy that has been done. Hence the rationality of the use of antihypertensive drugs in pregnant women can be achieved. Methods: This study is an descriptive —observational that conducted concurrently in outpatient and inpatiencduring April to july 2015 in PMI Hospital Bogor. Results: From the 89 patients, there were 43 patients with stage 1 hypertension who did not receive pharmacological treatment, only a change in lifestyle management. As many as 46 patients received pharmacological therapy, only 27 patients on the proper selection and proper dosage of the drug regimen, while 19 other patients using a combination of drugs that are not listed in either the standard treatment guidelines for MOH and JNC 7. In terms of the output of blood pressure controlled in hospitalized patients when coming home, all of the patients (32 patients) successfully lowered blood pressure, and in accordance with therapeutic target in the treatment of hypertension listed NICE treatment guidelines. Conclusion: The regimen choice of antihypertensive drug during pregnancy has not been in accordance with the guidelines for the treatment of hypertension during pregnancy. text
