to its pattern of vulnerability. Bangka Island possesses abundant resources, both biological and nonbiological,
with notably extensive tin reserves. Given the high dynamics on Bangka Island, it is
fascinating to explore its vulnerabilities. Vulnerability was assessed using the Coastal Vulnerability
Index (CVI) and Coastal Integrity Vulnerability Assessment Tools (CIVAT). method. CVI method
involves analyzing parameters such as coastal slope, tidal range, significant wave height, sea level
rise, coastal geomorphology, shoreline changes, and protective structures.
Meanwhile, the CIVAT method looks at the same parameters, and adds the parameters of coral
area area, coastal vegetation and forest, natural habitat, coastal mining, coastal structure, seasonal
coastline patterns, sediment supply, and type of coastal development. The research was carried out by
observing vulnerability in 3 districts/cities and covering 7 sub-districts.
Analysis using CVI shows that of the 131.71 km of coastline on the East Coast of Bangka, 14.26
km has a very low level of vulnerability, 31 km has a low level of vulnerability, 75.11 km has a
moderate level of vulnerability, and 11.25 km has a high level of vulnerability. Meanwhile, the CIVAT
method shows that of the 8 regions studied, 1 region has a low level of vulnerability, 5 regions have a
medium level of vulnerability, and 2 regions have a high level of vulnerability. The calculation results
using the CIVAT method have more local and detailed results compared to the CVI method, so the
CIVAT method adds more detailed information regarding the vulnerability of an area. |
