Summary: | Field Block X is located in Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia (203245 mE,
9886249 mN; 204896 mE, 9886249 mN; 204918 mE, 9884105 mN; 203234 mE, 9884106 mN).
Field Block X is a part of the Barito Basin with the Tanjung Formation as a coal bearing
formation. This research aims to find out the characteristics, depositional environment,
distribution model, and estimate of coal resources. The primary data used in the study were in
the form of outcrop data and maceral composition. Drill and quality data are also used in the
form of secondary data. For analyzing the coal's properties, proximate data will be used, while
outcrop data, sulphur data, maceral and literature research will be used to analyze the
depositional environment. Minescape 5.7 software will be used for modeling analysis,
distribution, and resource estimation calculation.
Correlation results of log data and rock outcrop data in Field Block X covering an area of 3.44
km² show that the study was divided into two unofficial rock units, namely sandstone-claystone
unit with G, G1, H, I, J, and K coal seams in tidal coastal plain to lower coastal plain
depositional environment with limnic hydrology condition, tides influence and limited influx
clastic sediment and limestone unit in shallow marine with low energy environment. Based on
the similarity of characteristics from the lithology and literature study, these two units are
equivalent to the Tanjung Formation and Berai Formation. The geological structure that
develops in the study area are normal fault, reverse fault, and dextral strike slip fault that based
on well data and kinematics analysis.
Based on the results of the analysis of coal quality show that the average rank of coal quality
in Field Block X is High Volatile C Bituminous to High Volatile B Bituminous Coal with a
calorific value of around 12.535,30 btu/lb. According to SNI, the geological complexity of Field
Block X is an area with moderate geological complexity. Thus, the estimation of coal resources
in the study area starting from inferred, indicated and measured resources is 1,75 , 4,02 and
8,80 million tons with a total resource of 14,57 million tons. |
