Summary: | Tourism is a source of foreign exchange income which is also expected to spur economic
growth. Most of Indonesia's regions are rural areas, so village-based tourism can be at the
forefront of village economic recovery and is expected to help national economic recovery and
growth. In developing tourist villages, there are local values that need to be taken into account,
with one of the keys being focusing on community participation, because the community has
an important role as owners, actors and managers of the development and development of
tourist villages. Likewise, tourist villages are still classified as pioneering tourist villages,
which require local resource groups who are willing to work/participate in the development
and construction of tourist villages. Gegesik Kulon Tourism Village is one of the tourist villages
in Cirebon Regency which is classified as a pioneering tourist village. With these several
points, it is therefore necessary to identify the practice of community participation in the
development of the Gegesik Kulon Tourism Village, by identifying the forms of community
participation that have been carried out, as well as identifying the level of community
participation that has been carried out so far, using a democracy cube which is reviewed
through participant selection. , type of communication, as well as the level of authority in the
practice of community participation there. To achieve these goals and objectives, primary data
was collected using interviews and observations, as well as secondary data using literature
studies. The analysis used in this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis method using
Archon Fung's the democracy cube theory. The results obtained in this research are that there
is community involvement in activities to develop the Gegesik Kulon Tourism Village which is
categorized into community participation in the form of ideas, in the form of expertise, and in
the form of energy. Then regarding the level of community participation in the Gegesik Kulon
Tourism Village, there has been an expansion of the practice space for community
participation in the democracy cube from the registration stage to the implementation stage. |
