Statins has become the most widely prescribed medications as lipid lowering drug. One of side effect of statin is increased blood glucose. This study aims to identify the appropriate usage of statins in dyslipidemic patients with or without comorbidity of diabetes mellitus type 2. This study used non-experimental methods, data collection conducted concurrently and retrospectively, with descriptive data analysis. In 2015, there were 57 dyslipidemic patients composition was 34 female and 23 male whose ages ranged from 34 to 74 years old. Meanwhile in 2016 the sition was 26 female and 8 male whose ages rånged from 36 to 74 years old. The number of patients with and without diabetes mellitus type 2 comorbid 44 and 13 patients, respectively. While that in 2016 the figures were 18 and 16, respectively. The results showed that statin use by category of rational drug the respective percentage of statin use in 2015 and 2016 were 100% and 100% apopropriate indication, 46,9% and 55% with appropriate patients, 41,4% and 44,5% with appropriate drug, and 44,8% and 55,5% with appropriate dosage. The evaluation of statin use by category of drug related problems (DRPs) possibility was based on domain problem is undesirable drug reactions (adverse effects non-allergic), dose (high dose). Based on DRPs domain cause is drugs selection (drugs improper and incorrect dosage), drugs use process (no monitoring of drug use). Qualitative analysis of blood glucose decrease in 2015 and 2016 showed diabetes mellitus therapy was less successful in dyslipidemic patients treated with statin, then statin are not recommended fordyslipidemic patients. text
