In traditional medicine the leaves and preserved flower are commonly used as a sedative, bark and seeds can freat fever, diarrhea and disentry. Fruit and bark contain saponins, flavonoids and tannins, in addition to the leaves and fruit contain polyphenols. However, the chemical content in this plant was still limited reported. Therefore, the aims of tffs study were to test the antioxidant activity of Syzyqum Jambos and to isolate its major compounds. Extraction was done by maceration using different solvent. All extracts were monitored by thin-layer chromatogaphy (TLC), antioxidant activity was tested by DPPH scavenging method using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and the IC50 was determined. The ethyl acetate extract (12 g) was continued to vacuuun liquid chromatography (KCV) and radial chromatography to obtain four compounds X, Y, Z and A. The purity test showed only A was pure, while compound X, Y and Z were not pure. Isolate A was characterized by specific reagent ,TLC densitometry, chemical shift reaction and proton & carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry ( I H-NMR and 13 C NMR). The IC50 valües of DPPH scavenging activih/ S. Jambos were ranged between 13.09 pg / mL and 788,5gg / mL. Isolate A showed Imax at 236 nm and 280 nm. Based on the I H-NMR result S. Jambo58howed the peak of 0.71 to 092 ppm; 1.02 to 1.59 ppm; 1.62 to 1.77 ppm; 2.09 to 2.1 4.30 ppm; 7.32 ppm; 7.70 ppm, while the 13 C-NMR showed a shift of chemicals in the region of 11.5 ppnu• 14.53 ppm; 19.74 ppm; 20.94 ppm; 23.58 ppm; 26.19 ppm; 29.41 ppm; 38.58 ppm; 46.75 ppm; 64.47 ppm; 66.39 ppm; 128.97 ppnu• 131.07 132.42 ppnu• 167.90 ppn; 177.66 ppm The methanol extract of S. Jambos had IC50 value (13.09 mg / nff,) which was lower than ethyl acetate and n-hexane extract. From the ethyl acetate extract of leaves of Syzygium jambos isoflavone compound was isolated. text
