The world target stated in SDGs number 6 is to ensure the availability and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation for all (100%) and eliminate open defecation (0%). While Indonesia's target, which is stated in the RPJMN 2020-2024, is to ensure 90% access to proper sanitation and 15% safe sanitation and 0% open defecation in 2024. Community-based Sanitation (SANIMAS) is an activity to overcome sanitation problems in Indonesia. The achievement of sanitation access in Temanggung District in 2022 reached 85.61% with safe access of 2.5%. In practice, 88% of people in Temanggung District dispose of domestic wastewater directly into the river without prior treatment. One of the consequences of poor sanitation is the high stunting rate of 20.25% in 2022. As an effort to protect the environment, the SANIMAS program was developed with the Local Domestic Wastewater Management System (SPALDS). This program focuses on communities that do not have access to safe sanitation, especially for family members who have pregnant women, BATITA, stunted children, and disabilities and are included in the MBR. The goal of this study is to identify the determinants of the influence of community participation on the sustainability of SANIMAS program, and identify strategy recommendations as an improvement in the implementation of SANIMAS program. The factors are determined by applying the FIETS aspects (Financial, Institutional, Environmental, Technological, and Social), then community participation is determined based on SANIMAS stages, namely input, process and output as well as SANIMAS sustainability. This research uses the Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) quantitative method with the Smart PLS version 3.0 program. The results of this study indicate that technological, institutional, and socio-cultural factors have a significant effect on participation which indirectly affects the iv sustainability of the SANIMAS Program with T-statistic values of 2.659, 2.136, and 2.73 and P-values of 0.008, 0.033, and 0.007. Furthermore, the level of community participation has a positive and significant effect on the sustainability of the SANIMAS Program with a T-statistic value and P-value of 13.748 and 0.000. The main strategy in achieving sustainability of the SANIMAS Program in Temanggung District is to increase community awareness and understanding of sanitation through education and routine counseling, as well as strengthening collaboration between government, villages, community leaders, and community institutions. To ensure access to safe sanitation, coordination is needed in maintaining the SANIMAS program through community institutions integrated with local government. All of these efforts require high enthusiasm from the community and the involvement of various parties in encouraging the sustainability of the SANIMAS Program in Temanggung District. text |
