Description
Summary:Sumatera is a region with a high of seismisity level so the study of seismic hazard is needed by making a seismic hazard map as a proposition of mitigation and also to geotechnical. One method that can be used is probabilty approach, Probabability Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA). With this method the uncertainty of value, location, and rate of recurrence of earthquakes and also variation of ground shaking characteristic are explisitly considered in evaluation of seismic hazard. This study use earthquake data catalog from Engdahl, which is earthquake data catalog that occured at Sumatera Island since 1964 till the end of 1999, with maximum depth is 100 kilometres and magnitude are larger than 5 (five). Whereas geological data of seismic source, Sumatera fault zone and subduction, are obtained from previous research by DH Natawidjaja (2002). Seismic hazard result is a contour of peak ground acceleration (PGA) at the base rock which represent the hazard for return period of 475 years (probablilty of exceedance 10% 50 years), 975 years (probability of exceedance 5% 50 years), and 2,475 years (probability of exceedance 10% 50 years).
