Summary:Abstract: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Todays advancement in computer networking technology had enabled various multimedia service within Internet Protocol. The web and HTTP protocol is now a universal language to many different computer system. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Network Camera is an embedded system providing a video surveillance via HTTP protocol in an IP based computer network. The system is given an IP address which could be accessed from anywhere in the world using the same IP network, the Internet. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This report describes design and implementation of a Network Camera on an Embedded Linux System. The embedded system itself includes a TS-7250 (ARM-based) Single Board Computer with 200MHz system clock and a webcam which connects to it via USB port. Linux was the default operating system for this SBC. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The conclusion is a Network Camera could be implemented using TS-7250 and a Logitech Quickcam Webcam obtaining a maximum framerate if 8 fps. Another feature of this Network Camera is a remote controller of its point of view. <br />
