Summary: | Padalarang Station has been designated as one of the stops for the Jakarta-Bandung high speed rail. The Padalarang Station surrounding area is currently an unorganized area with many dense informal residences, scattered traditional market and unoptimized road facilities to support transit activities. This study aims to create a redevelopment plan for the Padalarang Station Area by applying TOD concepts and principles to create a transit friendly and integrated environment with the surrounding context. The concept of transit-oriented development (TOD) is an approach to a development that prioritizes public transportation as the main orientation.
The design process was carried out using a qualitative descriptive approach, comparative analysis, and pseudo-evaluation analysis. The design method uses a fragmental process with design formulation through optimizing and division by aspect. The design results consist of vision, mission, strategy, and concepts presented based on urban design elements and simulations to visualize the design results in the context of its location. This design thesis can enrich the study of transit-oriented development, especially in high-speed train station areas and provide input for the government and developers in developing high-speed train station areas with TOD concept, particularly in the Padalarang Station area.
