總結: | PT Segar Mitra Nusantara is a manufacturing company engaged in the production,
distribution, and marketing services of packaged drinking water (Air Minum Dalam
Kemasan or AMDK). The company's product range includes various types of bottled water,
such as 120 ml glass mineral water, 220 ml glass mineral water, 330 ml bottled mineral
water, 600 ml bottled mineral water, 1500 ml bottled mineral water, and 19L gallon-sized
water. The company's production system has not been running smoothly due to unstructured
production planning. At times, the company produces beyond its capacity, while at other
times, production is not carried out. Consequently, poor planning can lead to adverse effects
on the company, including damage to product quality, high-cost burdens, and suboptimal
machine utility usage.
The Economic Manufacturing Quantity (EMQ) multi-product method is employed in
production control to address the challenges faced by the company. This method aims to
achieve optimal production quantities with minimum total cost burdens. It takes into account
the conditions of companies producing various types of products on the same machine
(multi-product). The total cost burdens considered in this study include production costs,
setup costs, and holding costs.
The research results in an overall cost burden reduction of 1.49%, with the greatest cost
efficiency observed in the 19L gallon product category at 3.7%. Improvements in cost
savings will positively impact the company by increasing net profit to 2.74% from the
existing profit level. Therefore, it is recommended that PT Segar Mitra Nusantara adopts
the EMQ multi-product method to enhance its production and inventory systems, leading to
cost savings and increased net profit in the future.
