The tendency of people to constantly alter or modify two-wheeled vehicles in order to cope with more extreme geographic and environmental conditions than in other places served as the inspiration for the development of this vehicle design. In the meanwhile, because of the remote location, the community must make use of the different materials that are available there, such as improvised and natural materials, for vehicle alterations or modifications. These circumstances help the community develop specialized knowledge and abilities for exploiting readily available resources to create vehicles that meet the demands of people's daily activities. The flexibility of the vehicle facilities to be used ordinarily outside of exceptional needs that necessitate changes at particular periods (adaptive) can actually be produced through a design approach, but this cannot be realized owing to adjustments made in a hurried way. Given this context, a participatory design process was suggested in this research so that the community's unique talents and knowledge could be leveraged and a design that was appropriate for the features of the community itself was obtained. Thus, the goal of this study is to create a vehicle design that satisfies community requirements, which are based on unique geographic and environmental circumstances. Additionally, the research conducted will result in a participatory design model or idea for rural vehicle products based on neighborhood activities and lifestyles. These circumstances help the community develop specialized knowledge and abilities for exploiting readily available resources to create vehicles that meet the demands of people's daily activities. In fact, by using a design approach, specialized knowledge and abilities can result in a two-wheeled vehicle design that is more optimal, including the flexibility of the vehicle's facilities to be used normally in the absence of special needs that necessitate changes at specific times (adaptive), which cannot be satisfied by changes made quickly. An Ehtnographical technique was utilized to learn about the traits, actions, and pursuits of the Cikadu community. Site surveys, structured and unstructured interviews, video and photo documentation from 2017 to 2021, focus group discussions, and other methods are used to implement the approach. The participatory design approach is implemented at the vehicle design stage to prototypes, specifically in the form of strengthening of specialized skills and community methods. create and test prototypes based on capabilities and adaptability to local features, as well as integrate into the surroundings. The discovery of the collaborative design model known as MoKKAP—which stands for the conceptual group Collaboration, Catalyst, Artifact, and Rural—is a significant finding of this research. In addition to the field of product design studies, it is hoped that the results of the model produced by this research can enhance the design process for typical rural areas. The MoKKAP Design Collaboration Model can be applied to other rural areas, so it is hoped that rural vehicle designs will be born that utilize local wisdom from a community. Indonesian origin text
