Description
Summary:One factor that greatly affects the farming of chili plants is the weather factor. Heavy rainfall can lead to the accumulation of water around the roots and leaves of chili, creating moist and ideal conditions for the growth of pathogenic microorganisms that cause rot. The right method is needed in determining the place and time of planting that is suitable for planting chili plants. This study uses daily rainfall data sourced from CHIRPS reanalysis data, temperature data sourced from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), land use data from topographic data derived from DEM data sourced from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), soil type data in West Bandung Regency sourced from FAO-UN-Land and Water Division (CBL), as well as data on the division of territory per district and land cover throughout Indonesia. These data were processed to produce climate characterization, land suitability maps and climate, as well as chili planting scheduling plans. West Bandung regency has a climate Type B (wet) with land suitability and climate dominated by class S2. Planting red chili that are suitable for harvesting in the appropriate season should be done in October 2nd dasarian to November 1st dasarian so that it will produce peppers that can be harvested first in March 2nd dasarian to April 1st dasarian and harvested a second time in July 2nd dasarian to August 1st dasarian.
