ANALYSIS OF INCREASING RELIABILITY AND AVAILABILITY THROUGH MAINTENANCE PROGRAM IMPROVEMENTS OF 1 MW CIRATA SOLAR POWER PLANT USING RELIABILITY CENTERED MAINTENANCE
Based on the results of the World Economic Forum Global Risk Report (2022) survey, climate change in the next 10 years is considered the risk that poses the greatest long-term threat. One solution to reduce climate change is to utilize renewable energy, such as solar power plants. As a case study, t...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/79173 Based on the results of the World Economic Forum Global Risk Report (2022) survey, climate change in the next 10 years is considered the risk that poses the greatest long-term threat. One solution to reduce climate change is to utilize renewable energy, such as solar power plants. As a case study, the Cirata solar power plant reportedly experienced a decrease in the Performance Ratio (PR) value within 5 years after it was established, from 90.15% in 2015 to 76.12% in 2020. Therefore, an analysis of the actual conditions is needed as a lesson for another solar power plant, and an optimum risk management strategy is needed to increase the reliability and availability value by considering cost-effectiveness. In this research, we first carry out a risk analysis on actual conditions, then an analysis will be carried out regarding recommended risk management strategies using the Risk-Based Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM-3) method to reduce the risk rating from actual conditions, but still be cost-effective. In actual conditions, there are 8 failure modes with a moderately high-risk level, 23 failure modes with a moderate risk level, and 14 failure modes with a low-risk level. The recommended risk management is in the form of a proactive maintenance strategy by optimizing existing human resources, without additional staff, as well as equipment investment recommendations that have the potential to increase reliability from 57.9% to 77.7%, availability from 99.2% to 99.9 %, and incur investment costs related to the procurement of equipment for redundancy in the final combiner box, NH fuse, and air circuit breaker. By implementing this risk management strategy, the final results of the risk mapping were 31 failure modes with a moderate risk level and 14 failure modes with a low-risk level. With an NPV value of IDR 5.3 million, an IRR of 6.3%, and a payback period of 11.2 years. From the calculation of maintenance costs incurred, the maintenance recommendations given have the potential to provide cost savings of IDR 146 million per year. text |
