Summary:Infectious diseases are diseases that often occur in every country around the world, especially developing countries, including Indonesia. To cope with infectious diseases, frequently used group of antibiotics betalaktam class. The use of antibiotics is much written in the prescription and the lack of monitoring of therapy allows the occurrence of impossibilities which resulted in increased use of severity of disease, resistance, and adverse drug reactions so that the evaluation of drug use needs to be done. This research was conducted at the General Hospital Education Dr. Hasan Sadikin to assess the accuracy and safety of antibiotic use betalaktam class. Evaluation of drug use based on retrospective data of patients hospitalized children live in September-November 2009 include the accuracy of antibiotic selection, indications, drug safety, accuracy of dosage, drug interactions. The results showed that ampicillin is used in the 1-24 month age range of 14.56% in injection dosage form 38% by intravenous route slow bolus injection of 38%. Doses less most occur in 1.08% ampicillin. Happened synergistic combination of ampicillin-gentamicin seebsar 12.13%, 20.76% use duplication, drug interactions Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic 38.28%. Based on the research, the most widely used antibiotic was ampicillin. Still there are inaccuracies in the selection of antibiotics, there was a dose and dose more or less, the combination, duplication, and drug interactions.
