MODELLING OF RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM COIN BATTERY (LIR2032 AND LIR2450) FOR CHARGING- DISCHARGING BATTERY ON IOT DEVICES

Coin cells are a type of battery used for low-power electronic equipment and have a rechargeable version based on a Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LCO) cathode. As the trend of smart sensors as one of today's IoT devices increases, the need for rechargeable LCO-based coin cell batteries is increasing...

As the trend of smart sensors as one of today's IoT devices increases, the need for rechargeable LCO-based coin cell batteries is increasing, the right treatment is needed so that the battery can operate efficiently and maximize smart sensors performance, therefore the right charging method is needed. In this thesis research, by comparing CCCV, CPCV, CC, PC and PP charging methods through several experiment mechanisms, it was found that the PP method with a power pulse pattern is the best charging method for LCO-based coin cell batteries among other methods, the model is a close-loop system, with voltage data as feedback to determine the current value delivered to the LiB as the voltage increases so that the charging power can be maintained in accordance with the specified power rating, the model was simulated using Simulink and the validation results with testing found error average of ? 2.5%. text
