Description
Summary:Smart city solutions are the use of various electronic methods or sensors to collect data related to an urban area that will be used to improve operational efficiency, share information with the public, and provide a better quality of government services and community welfare services. PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom Group), as a state-owned enterprise engaged in information and communications technology (ICT), then felt the need to have a role in the development and facilitate local government in developing smart city solutions by launching the Smart City Nusantara program. One of the means developed to support the core activities of the program is the Smart City Nusantara website developed in 2018, which then underwent a redesign in 2021. Although the redesign is based on the company's internal evaluation, the evaluation ought to involve its target users to ensure that the performance of the web page is good. This research aims to increase the usability of Smart City Nusantara website by evaluating the level of usability of information-seeking activities in the form of articles and visit registration. Both functions are tested on new users or new users. Usability evaluation is done in a summative manner through measurement of user performance regarding effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. This research also applies the Retrospective Think Aloud (RTA) Protocol. Data collection is done through remote experiments using video conference media. The experiment involved 12 participants consisting of 6 college or high school students aged 15 - 23 years and 6 working people aged 24 - 45 years. Based on the results of research, the functions of the web page can be said to be effective. The completion time of the scenario of the visit registration was not homogeneous between groups of participants. Based on QUIS, participants were already quite satisfied with the overall performance. RTA results show some difficulties in the work of tasks that correspond to errors that occur during the execution of the task. With the concept generation method, seven proposed improvements were produced to improve the usability of the Smart City Nusantara website.
