However, the result of preliminary study shows a gap that is experienced by respondents while working on virtual team, which focuses on system implementation readiness. There are several aspects related to the implementation of group discussions, such as mental workload, psychosocial, and individual preferences which can then influence behavior. This study aims to evaluate mental workload of virtual team and to compare psychosocial perceptions and preferences between virtual and offline teams. Research related to mental workload was carried out through experiment involving 30 participants who had group discussions through Google Meet and using the NASA-TLX questionnaire as the measuring tool. Meanwhile, research related to psychosocial perception and preference was conducted through a survey involving 99 people, using the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ), conflict management questionnaire, and friendship quality questionnaire. Survey data testing was carried out using the paired t-test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. This study shows that the virtual team's mental workload value is more than 50, which means that there is still a lot of room for improvements. Other than that, there is a significant difference in the coworker support aspects and collaboration with higher value on offline team score. Based on preference result, virtual team has advantages in terms of technicality and flexibility. text |
