The company was founded in 1998 by providing information technology equipment and infrastructure for banking in the form of hardware and software. The number of orders received by Banyupenta has not reached the annual target since 2019. There are many problems in Banyupenta, such as differences in workloads, opinion delivery, work delays, and miscommunication of information that had an impact on Banyupenta’s organizational effectiveness. Therefore, this study aims to identify the problems that occur in Banyupenta and design interventions to overcome these problems. The whole process from assessing the problem to designing intervention is called the organizational development. The identification of problems in Banyupenta begins by assessing the effectiveness of Banyupenta as an output to determine the focus of improvement in this study. Organizational effectiveness assessment is carried out using the Competing Values Framework model. The results of the effectiveness assessment show that the organizational leadership dimension in Banyupenta considered ineffective. organizational diagnosis process is made to identify organizational problems from the effectiveness assessment’s result. The organizational diagnosis model used in this study is the Preziosi’s model. Organizational effectiveness’s dimension, organizational leadership is related to organizational diagnosis’ elements of leadership and helpful mechanisms. Hence, diagnosis made in this study is the diagnosis of elements of leadership and helpful mechanisms. Based on the results of the diagnostic process, Banyupenta currently has problems in leadership and helpful mechanisms. Problems’ indicators that are below neutral are the influence exerted by the leader, participation in decision making, assistance from superiors, and openness between divisions. Furthermore, the intervention design was carried out according to the results of Banyupenta's diagnosis. Interventions related to communication, decision making, leadership, and group dynamics, namely the human process interventions. The proposed strategy based on the problems’ indicators diagnosed in Banyupenta is the application of participative leadership. Therefore, the proposed intervention accordance with the conditions and wishes of the company is group intervention. Group intervention is carried out by implementing participative leadership programs in the form of regular company meetings including consultation, joint decision making, decentralization, company’s progress, weekly plans, weekly targets, weekly evaluations, and democratic management. text |
