Summary: | The significant increase in the internet technology development and the growth of internet user has led to increased competition on the business environment, especially in the marketing aspect. As one of the largest bottled drinking water companies in West Sumatra, CV Multirejeki Selaras that is also facing challenges in the marketing aspect has started to develop the Asri website, a product ordering website that is expected to increase the company’s competitive advantage. However, the website prototype has never been evaluated or tested to target users and based on some trials conducted by the company’s employee, there are still some difficulties in running the various feature on the Asri website prototype.
This study aims to improve the usability of the Asri website prototype by conducting evaluation on several features including the information search feature, regular user ordering feature, account registration feature, distributor ordering feature, order status checking feature, and complaint report feature. Formative usability evaluation is carried out by measuring the performance of the website using effectivity, efficiency, and user satisfaction parameter, as well as by using the retrospective think aloud (RTA) approach. The evaluation conducted on twenty participants with experience in using digital devices and divided into two grouping factors based on generation and sex of the participants.
Based on the research results, all the features tested can be said to be effective because of the completion rate of more than 70% on each feature. However, the distributor ordering feature cannot be said to be efficient because there is a significant difference between generation based on the completion time and the error frequency, as well as the regular user ordering feature that has a significant difference between sex group based on the error frequency. The result of Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction (QUIS) with an average score of 7.92 showed that the participants were quite satisfied with the overall feature performance. By using the RTA approach to find the problems and the concept generation method to generate improvement recommendations, 26 improvements recommendation were made to improve the usability of the Asri website prototype. |
