Summary: | Household waste management is still a problem in Indonesia. This usually happens
in big cities like Bandung. The common problem is the lack of facilities and
transportation for household waste management. One of solution that can be done
for this problem is the development of community-based household waste
management, namely the waste bank. The establishment of a waste bank will certainly
be more effective if it starts with a mentoring program such as educating managers
and the community about the waste bank system and the importance of managing
waste from sources. A waste bank with a mentoring program is expected to produce
a higher level of knowledge, perception, and attitude of the community towards waste
management. The purpose of this research is to analyze the difference in the level of
knowledge, perception and attitude of the society in Waste Bank A who has received
an assistance program with Waste bank B who does not has received an assistance
program. The instruments of this research use questionnaires that contain questions
from the variables level of knowledge, perception, attitude, perceived behaviour
control (PBC), intention and behavior waste management based on the theory of
planned behaviour (TPB). The Mann Whitney comparative test analysis and the
double linear regression test were used in this study with the total respondents of 78
respondents from Waste Bank A and 76 respondents from Waste Bank B. The results
of the research showed that the level of knowledge, perception and attitudes of the
society around Waste Bank A and Waste bank B are significantly different (p-value =
0.00). The behavior of the community around the Waste Bank A shows higher yields
than Waste bank B, with an average of 2.4 kg of wastes selected, the average customer
balance of Rp. 107,000 and the number of people who have joined is 9 people. |
