Summary: | Floating Photovoltaic (FPV) is a renewable energy structure that is being developed worldwide. The operation of these structures is placed on various water surfaces with challenges that generally come from environmental factors such as waves, wind, and currents. Apart from the environmental aspect, another factor that might have an influence on the operating performance of floating PV structures is the intervention of other floating structures such as ships. The presence of sailing ships can cause several incidents such as waves from ships which are generally called Kelvin ship wakes and the risk of ships colliding with floating PVs. The main objective of this research is to see the influence of these two phenomena on the floating PV structure by carrying out structural analysis and modeling using several software (OrcaFlex and SACS). Based on the research carried out, it was concluded that waves from a ship's Kelvin wake do not give a significant influence, especially on the floating PV mooring system, however, the wave height value generated from a ship's Kelvin wake can still exceed the design wave limit for floating PV structures. Apart from that, the most critical collision energy value for the floating PV structure in the study is 39.4 kNm. From this value, a graph of the relationship between the mass and speed of the ship is obtained by referring to the general kinetic energy equation. That way, this graph can be used to determine the speed limit for ships that will sail in the area around the PV floating structure.
