Performance assessment and the Actual Operation and Maintenance Needs (AKNOP) are challenges for the government in the future management and improvement of the river to prevent permanent damage. Therefore, appropriate handling is needed in river operation and maintenance to preserve and ensure the safety of the Cikapundung River. This research is an analysis of performance assessment modifications made by the researcher by adding a safety factor using the Bank Stability and Toe Erosion Model (BSTEM) method to the criteria for assessing river embankments. Secondary data collection was carried out by gathering all information related to this study, such as measurement results and analysis obtained by an institution or study team. Primary data collection was conducted by the author through a walkthrough from STA 0+000 to STA 3+000. The comparison results of the performance of the Cikapundung River from STA 0+000 to STA 3+000 yielded a score of 75.32, categorized as good for performance assessment without the safety factor, and 71.76, categorized as good when using the safety factor. The Actual Operation and Maintenance Cost (AKNOP) of the Cikapundung River from STA 0+000 to 3+000 amounted to Rp 938,910,878.50, and the breakdown of the AKNOP results is as follows: Rp 47,288,250.00 for Routine River Maintenance, Rp 13,241,013.50 for Periodic River Maintenance, Rp 35,333,865.00 for Routine River Infrastructure Maintenance, Rp 342,283,000.00 for Periodic River Infrastructure Maintenance, and Rp 500,764,750.00 for Operation Management Costs. text
