South Sumatra Province has known as the source of energy barn, but there are still a number of villages that do not yet have electricity. According to the data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia (ESDM) in 2011, Indonesia has a geothermal energy potential of 29,215 MW from the previous 27,000 MW. Therefore, it is necessary to have preliminary studies for geothermal exploration to maximize this potential. This research was conducted at Mount Dempo, which is located in Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. Mount Dempo is the highest stratovolcano in South Sumatra, located between the Bukit Barisan and Gumai Mountains, geographically located at 04º 01 '28.45" South Latitude and 103º 11' 16.40" East Longitude with an altitude of 3137 m above sea level. In this study, surface temperature and vegetation stress were used to detect indications of geothermal manifestations on Mount Dempo, South Sumatra. Surface temperature is obtained from the channel Thermal Infrared and Visible-Near Infrared ASTER imagery and vegetation stress is obtained from vegetation index analysis using Landsat 8 OLI imagery, namely NDVI, GDVI, and GNDVI. Based on the sectional comparison between surface thermal and vegetation index, it shows that GDVI is more sensitive to temperature changes than GNDVI and NDVI, while GNDVI is more sensitive than NDVI. Of the linear regression method, coefficient of determination (R2) NDVI-LST 2019 and 2020 amounted to 0.17 and 0.04, GDVI-LST 2019 and 2020 amounted to 0.17 and 0.31, and GNDVI-LST 2019 and 2020 amounted to 0,27, and 0.10. Based on the method Analytical Hierarchy Process, the LST weight is 0.54, GDVI is 0.28, GNDVI is 0.12, and NDVI is 0.08. Analysis of thermal anomalies, vegetation stress, and weighting resulted in an indication map of the geothermal manifestation of Mount Dempo with two zones of manifestation indication. text
