| Summary: | Indonesia has enormous maritime potential resources along the coast and on the sea. However, many coastal people still live in poverty. Environmental damage within coastal zone is one of the causes. There are several things that influence the condition of coastal zone environment, watershed is one of them. Thus, watershed also contributes in causing the damage of coastal environment. The damage affects coastal community multidimensionally, but this Final Project only discusses about economic and social effect. To study and solve the problem described above, identification of watershed components that can cause coastal damage will be done by using cause and effect analysis with correlation matrix approach. And then, the effects of environmental damage will be correlated to economic and social aspect of coastal community. Based on this research and study results, there are 6 components of watershed that can cause coastal damage. The components are rain intensity, river pattern (branching), topography, soil condition, vegetation, and landuse. The damage of coastal environment can decrease coastal people's buying power (economic effect) and bother their social life, such as, in health and education aspect. <br />
