Summary:As a public mass transportation, Metrokapsul needs safety and security improvement. In order to improve the safety aspects in Metrokapsul, passive safety system is developed and implemented. In the case of an emergency or a down condition, a safety system is needed that functions to push between Metrokapsul. This study aims to obtain this passive safety system design, namely a system called a pusher module. The pusher module design process starts with the definition of the pusher module and the components that will be used in the module. The components used in the pusher module are couplers, buffers, and supports. After the definition and functions of each components is done, the next objective is to set the design requirements (DR&O). Trade-off study method is done for each components, to obtain an alternative designs. The selected alternative design that is obtained form Trade-off Study will be used in pusher module. For coupler and buffer components, specifications are designed according to the needs of the Metrokapsul needs. In the support component, several alternative design configurations are designed based on the forces acting on the support. From the study, the results of the alternative components of the pusher module were obtained. The coupler used is the type of AAR Coupler and the buffer used is the Spring Buffer. The support used is the C-100 with V-braces. The connection method used is bolt. Furthermore, the design of the support is analyzed under various load conditions to obtain the strength of the supports and bolts. The analysis carried out will be validated with PM. Perhubungan 175 Tahun 2015. The results of the analysis show that the supports and bolts can withstand the pushing load under various condition without undergoing plastic deformation. This is indicated by the level of safety which is at a safe value.
