This destination has the advantage of natural beauty in the form of high hills, waterfalls, and many other attractionsIn order to optimize tourism development, it is necessary to pay attention to the needs of visitors, which can be obtained through tourist perceptions, therefore this research was conducted to identify development strategies for Wisata Lembah Harau based on tourist perceptions and visiting patterns.In this research, tourist perceptions discussed regarding the quality of the 4A tourism component such as attractions, amenities, accessibility, and ancillary services. Primary data were collected trough online questionnaires using the convenient sampling method with respondents from the people who have visited Wisata Lembah Harau. In addition, interviews were conducted with the government of Lima Puluh Kota Regency, private sector and organizer where the sourceperson were determined by purposive sampling method. Furthermore,observations were conducted to identify the existing conditions of Wisata Lembah Harau. The data analysis technique used is a combination of quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. The result of the study showed that there are challenges related to the 4A components in Wisata Lembah Harau, therefore a strategy was formulated to overcome these challenges. Some of the strategies obtained are to provide more attractions or activities that are attractive and familyfriendly, maintain entry passes pricing, increase cultural events, to facilitate supporting infrastructure so that activities can be carried out comfortably, improve roads that are damaged to increace accessibility, provide transportation inside the Area, and increase the responsibility of the government in promoting tourism and expanding information related to Harau Valley Tourism using multiple platforms. text
