Nature as a teacher, nature as inspiration and nature as an art studio. The calmness of nature is able to help him to achieve inner peace, and able to make the writer feel closer to the creator, Allah SWT, through gratitude for the blessings given by pampering his senses with the presence of nature in the midst of boring or mentally depressing reality. On a trip to nature, the author learned a valuable lesson about accepting life and destiny from plants, namely ferns. Ferns accept the fate assigned to them to grow in one place no matter the circumstances and can’t move, but these ferns continue to grow successfully until the end of their time comes. The author creates a series of ceramics by exploring the shape, color, pattern and texture of fern leaves. The configuration of this work is installational in nature, involving space on the walls and floor. Ferns will be arranged in irregular composition at specific spot. With the title of the work "Learn From Ferns" the author hopes that the audience who sees this work will learn the lesson that to achieve inner peace we need to accept our circumstances and ourselves, no matter how bad they are, because from that acceptance we are able to survive and grow. In this work, the author adapts the thought of amor fati by the philosopher Nietzsche. text |

For the writer, nature plays a very important role in his life. Nature as a teacher,
nature as inspiration and nature as an art studio. The calmness of nature is able to
help him to achieve inner peace, and able to make the writer feel closer to the
creator, Allah SWT, through gratitude for the blessings given by pampering his
senses with the presence of nature in the midst of boring or mentally depressing
reality. On a trip to nature, the author learned a valuable lesson about accepting
life and destiny from plants, namely ferns. Ferns accept the fate assigned to them
to grow in one place no matter the circumstances and can’t move, but these ferns
continue to grow successfully until the end of their time comes.
The author creates a series of ceramics by exploring the shape, color, pattern and
texture of fern leaves. The configuration of this work is installational in nature,
involving space on the walls and floor. Ferns will be arranged in irregular
composition at specific spot. With the title of the work "Learn From Ferns" the
author hopes that the audience who sees this work will learn the lesson that to
achieve inner peace we need to accept our circumstances and ourselves, no matter
how bad they are, because from that acceptance we are able to survive and grow.
In this work, the author adapts the thought of amor fati by the philosopher
Nietzsche.
