Summary: | The increase in population and development causes changes in land cover and surface temperature in Surabaya city. In the last few years, efforts have been made to expand the Green Open Space (RTH) area in Surabaya, but it is not certainly known that the change in the area of RTH will affect temperature changes.
Therefore, in this study Landsat 8 satellite data processing was carried out to determine the effect of RTH changes in air temperature. This study uses Landsat 8 satellite data to obtain maps of land cover, Land Surface Temperature (LST), and air temperature. Furthermore, an analysis of the relationship between air temperature and land cover changes will be carried out in the city of Surabaya.
The results showed that the city of Surabaya experienced changes in land cover dominated by built land that covers more than 60% of the area of Surabaya City, as well as changes in air temperature every year. Spatially, the more to the middle of the city, the air temperature in Surabaya will increase, with an average air temperature value of 26.5°C - 27.5°C. Land cover and air temperature in Surabaya have a very strong correlation value where air temperature is inversely proportional to the vegetation area with a value of R2 = 0,9578 and is directly proportional to the area of land built with a value of R2 = 0,8482. |
