Summary: | In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mikan Bank, one of Indonesia's leading retail and
corporate banks, has expedited the implementation of its hybrid work model. This proactive
response underscores the Bank's capacity to adapt and innovate amidst adversity. The hybrid
work model, which integrates both on-site and off-site work options, offers the flexibility that
employees need, irrespective of their location. An internal survey conducted by the Bank
revealed that 80% of employees, as confirmed by their line managers, reported increased
productivity under this model. However, this flexibility has led to some project delays, which is
the focus of this study. We investigated the critical factors contributing to project delays by
employing a combination of socio-technical system and input-throughput-output framework as
our research foundation. We used socio-technical analysis structure and 10 step sequence for
qualitative analysis, including template and external environment analysis. From our template
analysis, we identified more than a thousand codes that we successfully compressed them into 44
core codes, translated these codes into 42 factors under 6 priori socio-technical themes, explored
their causal effects, evaluated with senior stakeholders, restructured the factor into 42 factors
under 8 priori socio-technical themes and proposed a model. 51 Samples were collected from
301 population of IT project management team. This model was then quantified using the Partial
Least Square - Structural Equation Model and its reflective, formative, structural, and predictive
power were evaluated. We integrated both qualitative and quantitative findings using the Pillar
Integration Procedure (PIP) and generated prioritized, strong, mild, and weak critical factors. As
the result, we prioritized 23 critical factor to be addressed in proposed business solution. We also
introduced a framework to interpret these findings and translated them into business solutions.
