The Metaverse offers revolutionary potential across various industries, from entertainment to interior design, although its implementation requires careful consideration for sustainability. This study aims to design an exaggerated exhibition space in the East Hall of the Ganesha Campus, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), to provide an extended reality experience within the metaverse. This design can be visualised from three perspectives: a bird’s viewpoint/perspective (providing a flying and levitating sensation), dwarf’s viewpoint/perspective (creating the sensation of being a small creature observing large objects), and human’s perspective. Method: Twenty-eight respondents evaluated the exaggerated experience in the metaverse exhibition in the East Hall by employing user experience and the Think-Aloud method. Results: The results showed that respondents experienced a heightened sense of immersion and captivation by the multidimensional artwork in the exhibition. This was attributed to the sensation of scale provided by the levitation perspective and the reduced scale. Conclusion: This study provides a new method for enhancing exploration engagement and curiosity by providing a more intimate interaction with the exhibited objects. text |

The Covid-19 pandemic triggered a megashift, leading to rapid
transformation into the virtual world, including significant growth in the
Metaverse. The Metaverse offers revolutionary potential across various industries,
from entertainment to interior design, although its implementation requires careful
consideration for sustainability. This study aims to design an exaggerated
exhibition space in the East Hall of the Ganesha Campus, Bandung Institute of
Technology (ITB), to provide an extended reality experience within the metaverse.
This design can be visualised from three perspectives: a bird’s
viewpoint/perspective (providing a flying and levitating sensation), dwarf’s
viewpoint/perspective (creating the sensation of being a small creature observing
large objects), and human’s perspective. Method: Twenty-eight respondents
evaluated the exaggerated experience in the metaverse exhibition in the East Hall
by employing user experience and the Think-Aloud method. Results: The results
showed that respondents experienced a heightened sense of immersion and
captivation by the multidimensional artwork in the exhibition. This was attributed
to the sensation of scale provided by the levitation perspective and the reduced
scale. Conclusion: This study provides a new method for enhancing exploration
engagement and curiosity by providing a more intimate interaction with the
exhibited objects.
