Description
Summary:Early childhood development is in a state of growth that can be thought of as regular, step-bystep, and continuous change. As an individual who will continue to develop in line with the pattern and level of development, the child's brain will grow best when faced with various stimuli. Educational stimuli that need to be developed are self-help skills. This research aims to design a fashion collection that is suitable for early childhood in terms of self-help skills and understanding the theme of Astronomy related to the insights that children have. This research uses the three stage design process method, with reference to problem definition and research, creative exploration, and implementation. In addition, the method used in this research is a classroom action research method carried out in cycles of planning, acting, observing, and analyzing. To be able to test the self-help aspects as well as children's insights through the fashion collection designed, a group of children with the required age as research subjects of 4-6 years old were tested in PAUD Bunda Ganesa, Bandung City, West Java. Clothing self-help skills were tested on a collection of children's wear that contained fasteners such as buttons, zippers, velcro, and laces with the theme of Astronomy. PAUD Bunda Ganesa students who are in the age range of 4-6 years as many as 18 people became the subject of this study. The results of data analysis show that children aged 5-6 years are more advanced in clothing self-help skills in the Astronomy theme collection, while the ability level of children aged 4-5 years is up to the pre-help stage.
