The World Health Organization (WHO) states that mental health forms the foundation of how an individual thinks, interacts, and lives. In Indonesia, the number of individuals with mental disorders is on the rise, and there is a growing population of patients with severe mental illnesses. Gardens, especially those designed with a healing garden approach, are considered alternative recreational and therapeutic spaces for individuals with mental health issues. RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohutomo in Semarang is a specialized hospital that provides mental health services and recognizes the importance of the physical environment in the healing process of patients. This research aims to evaluate the quality of the garden at RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohutomo as a healing garden based on the perceptions and preferences of its users, generate guidelines and criteria for the planning of hospital gardens using a healing garden approach, and develop garden design recommendations to enhance its quality. The research methodology employed is cross-sectional research, involving preparatory stages, data collection (including primary data through observations and interviews, as well as secondary data through literature reviews), data analysis, and (including Key Performance Index/KPI assessments). The results of this research are expected to provide guidance for improving the quality of gardens as therapeutic spaces in the care of patients with mental disorders in the hospital. text |
