Summary: | Batik is a traditional Indonesian textile that is globally renowned. Batik, which is closely integrated with Indonesian culture, has developed along with the cultures that interact with Indonesia. One example is batik buketan, which is batik from coastal areas influenced by Chinese culture and European culture. Batik buketan is batik that uses floral motifs as the main component of the ornamental design used. Initially, batik buketan originated from Dutch batik that experienced cultural mixing in coastal Indonesia. Dutch culture, such as the Art Nouveau movement, inspired the Dutch to make batik with the main motif of flowers originating from their country. The batik cloth eventually spread widely among the Indonesian people, which later developed into batik buketan with the influence of local ethnic culture. As an effort to develop Indonesia's culture and the creative economy industry, the development of ornamental designs on batik buketan can be a form of innovation that can be done. Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, is the inspiration used in producing such innovation. The implementation of Ikebana as an inspiration for ornamental design in batik buketan is made possible by the basis of batik buketan, which also uses flowers as the basis of its ornamental design. With an understanding of the basic components, composition, and structure of batik buketan and Ikebana, it is possible to develop an ornamental variety with a fresh impression based on the creativity expected by the creative economy in Indonesia. Japanese culture, which has many enthusiasts in Indonesia, as well as the usage of Indonesia's own local culture also supports the interest and attracts many people so that it can help the development of the creative industry in Indonesia. |
